Hugh G. Hallward (1926-2013) was a strong supporter of the Montreal Oral School for the Deaf for many years. In 2001, Mr. Hallward founded the Montreal Oral School for the Deaf Foundation. He was instrumental in the success of the 2005-2006 capital campaign, which saw our campus move to its current location in Westmount. His many impacts continue to be felt today.
One year after his passing, the Montreal Oral School for the Deaf Foundation established the first annual Hugh G. Hallward Memorial Golf Tournament. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, donors and players, we raised $30,000. All funds collected at the golf tournament support the students living with hearing loss, and their families, who benefit from our programs and services.
