Early identification of hearing loss allows intervention to begin immediately following diagnosis and provide support to children with hearing loss and their families.
The first three years of life are considered as a critical period for the development of listening, speech, and language skills. The objective is for the child with hearing loss to develop to their full potential and have the same opportunities as their typically hearing peers, not only for school but for lifetime success.
